“and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.” Ezekiel 43:2
God brought this verse, Ezekiel 43:2, to mind today, as someone was praying for me.
While they were praying for me, I was feeling God’s Spirit, and I just heard the words “voice like rushing waters” and I thought this was a metaphor spoken in a verse I’d heard before, but I was not sure. I was right.
This was so amazing. God speaks to us in various ways, but one of them He speaks to people the most is through that of the written word – the bible. The bible is such a gift to us, because God speaks, clarifies, and confirms what he has said to us by, and with, his Spirit through it. Isn’t that lovely? He knew we, these small, simple, and cerebral beings, on planet earth, would sometimes need words on paper to help guide us, through our journey with him. Again… what a gift.
The fact that what I heard in my head today is in the Bible, was confirmation, today, that I was hearing Him speak to me. (I seriously LOVE when God speaks like this.)
Today, just his voice was exactly, and everything, I needed to hear: not necessarily big words, huge revelations, or even direction. Those are beautiful and MUCH needed in this time of my life currently: but he gave me exactly what I was in need of today, and right now.. His voice: just one simple reassurance of His presence in my life.
He is SO faithful.
